SBS-2
STEEL MATE SBS-2 Lane Change Assist System, Blind spot
New and improved 2nd generation of Blind Spot Detection System, with max. range of 30 meters. The system reduces the probability of a fatal accident caused while overtaking and changing lanes. It uses 77GHz microwave high-frequency technology. It reduces installation time by using a single sensor that can be installed in the license plate space or under the bumper.
New and improved 2nd generation of Blind Spot Detection System, with max. range of 30 meters. It reminds the driver that he or she has already been overtaken by another vehicle from the left or right side. The drivers often forget to check up the side lane in blind angle, before they drive into It. The system reduces the possibility of a fatal accident caused while overtaking or changing driving lanes. SBS-2 is homologated and developed in cooperation with a car manufacturer.
Scope of use:
- vehicle detection in the blind spot BSD (max. 8 meters)
- closing vehicle warning CVW (max. 30 meters)
Features:
- Signaling:
- indoor (advantageous in heavy rain, in reduced visibility)
- visual and audio (audio can be turned off)
- Detects:
- vehicles approaching from the left or right side
- not detected are:
- parked vehicles in both directions
- approaching vehicles from the opposite lane
- vehicles that are being overtaken
- for vehicles with 12V on-board voltage
- current consumption: <250mA
- length of cables from RJ to displays approx. 5.5 m and 6.5 m
- optimized algorithms
- it is necessary to carry out a test drive before using it in operation
Sensor:
- 77GHz microwave – only 1x
- IP67 – waterproof
- installation without drilling a hole
- minimum dimensions
- range: up to 30 m
- installation height: 55 cm (+/- 10 cm)
Wiring:
- ignition
- ground
- left side indicator
- right side indicator
- reverse light
- parking light
Warning. At a higher relative speed, there is a risk that at the moment of warning of an approaching vehicle, the immediate mutual speed and distance may no longer allow to avoid a collision. Therefore, it is essential that the driver always relies on his own skills and driving experience. This device does not replace the driver’s ability to control the vehicle and make correct decisions when driving the vehicle.
Note. When installing the SBS-2 on a vehicle with a tow bar, the sensor must be placed at such a height that the tow bar is not located in the detection zone. The sensor must not be blocked by metal objects.
